Inspiration is Everywhere – Especially in England

As interior designers, we know that inspiration can come from everywhere. Even the most unlikely places can spark a bit of creativity and excitement. When we decided to travel to England for Paul’s 50th birthday, we knew we were in store for constant inspiration – and were we ever!

Take a look at the stories, experiences, architecture, and places that provided us with ample inspiration for projects to come.

A Good Day for a Swim

The night before Paul’s birthday, we had dinner with our wonderful travel companions. Pam mentioned that she had seen a family meet daily at 7:00amfor a morning swim. What a way to start the day! Of course, Paul decided he had to join in. And what better day to do so than on his birthday? The next morning, bright and early, we went down for a birthday swim!

The Perfect Place to Rest Our Heads

While in England, we stayed at the Endsleigh House. Built in 1810 by the Duke of Bedford as a hunting lodge, this place was absolutely romantic, relaxing, and peaceful. Not to mention the rustic country interior! How can you not garner inspiration from this outstanding building and landscape?

Exploring England for Inspiration

Throughout the duration of our trip, we had the opportunity to visit a whirlwind of historic, legendary, and hands-down breathtaking places. From the Salisbury Cathedral to the largest thatched roof in England, the counties of Devon and Cornwall to Johnny Messum’s gallery, we were filled with inspiration by the end of our journey.

Salisbury Cathedral

Largest Thatched Roof in England

There’s no doubt that we’ll call on the lifelong memories made on this trip in some of our upcoming interior design projects.
